A student from County Louth, shut down a 'Project X' style party at his house with his dad's rifle.

According to the Irish Independent, the 21 year old came back from a night out to find over 200 people at his house, after word spread on social media that his parents were away.

Gardai said he had difficulty removing the crowds and, as a last resort, retrieved his father's unloaded rifle.

The man from Blackrock in Dundalk admitted a summons for unauthorised possession of a licensed firearm, but a conviction wasn't recorded against him.
