Gardai have confirmed man and woman, whose bodies were found in a decomposed state in a farmhouse in Co Limerick yesterday, did not die violently.
Gardai have also confirmed there were no gunshot injuries to the bodies.
It's now believed they may have been poisoned in a suicide pact or a murder suicide.
No formal identification has taken place but the man and woman have been named locally as 63-year old convicted con woman, Julia Holmes and her 56-year old partner Thomas Ruttle, a local part-time farmer and mechanic.
The couple have not been seen for the past two months.
A number of small exhibits have been taken from the house to be tested at the Garda Forensic Science Laboratory.
