Summer is taking a short holiday

The first Bank holiday weekend of the summer is expected to be very wet with heavy rain and thundery downpours forecast for most areas.

A status yellow weather warning is in place with accumulations of 30mm expected, particularly in the west and north.

There will be very little let up, with Met Eireann warning that it will be into the early hours of tomorrow morning before the heavy showers begin to clear.
