A surfer who had been trapped at the foot of the Cliffs of Moher has been pulled to safety.
The man was rescued by helicopter last night, eventhough sea conditions were described as difficult.
Two RNLI Lifeboats from the Aran Islands were also involved in the rescue operation off the coast of Clare.
The alarm was raised shortly before 8pm yesterday evening when the surfer was reported missing.
