The Justice Minister expects to see electronic tagging of suspects used regularly – once the law is introduced in the coming months.

Bail conditions are being tightened under a bill brought to Cabinet by Frances Fitzgerald this morning.

But civil rights proponents argue that electronic tagging hasnÂ’'t been proved to work.
