A former property developer has walked free from court after being handed a suspended 2 year jail term on a charge of wasting Garda time.
Kevin McGeever - who was found in a dishevelled state on a roadside in County Leitrim - claimed he'd been been kidnapped and held captive for eight months.
The 71 year old later admitted he'd made the whole thing up, to try and evade his business debts.
Today at Galway Circuit Criminal Court McGeever pleaded guilty to wasting Garda time.
