Turkey and Russia are reportedly close to a negotiating a ceasefire in Syria.

If successful the deal would see weapons silenced from midnight tonight.

The talks are ongoing this afternoon.

News agency AP says the proposal would cover the whole of Syria, however several rebel groups are withholding approval until they see details of the agreement.
