The Government says tackling homelessness is an "absolute priority" for the Government - with the Cabinet discussing the matter at its weekly meeting this morning.
The housing minister Jan O'Sullivan is expected to outline the government's plan of action tomorrow.
The plan's expected to include the use of former Garda stations and army barracks for accommodating the homeless.
