The Taoiseach Enda Kenny has added his voice to calls for an overhaul of the laws allowing the Garda Ombudsman to monitor the phones of journalists.
He's said that while there might be good reason to monitor phones in cases involving national security, surveillance is not warranted in cases where journalists are dealing with sources.
Frances Fitzgerald is due to update the cabinet tomorrow on the surveillance of journalists' phones and the potential ways to stop it.
