The Taoiseach says he’s confident that the Head of Irish Water is the right man for the job.

John Tierney has come under fire for the 86 million euro spent by Irish Water on consultancy.

And he also faces further questions about his role in the stalled Poolbeg Incinerator project in Dublin - which has cost the taxpayer nearly 100 million euro.

Tierney was the manager of Dublin City Council for seven years, with control over the facility.

But Taoiseach Enda Kenny says he has every confidence in Mr Tierney - despite the controversy over the 86 million euro spent by Irish Water on consultancy.
