Taoiseach Enda Kenny will visit London next week to meet the new British Prime Minister Theresa May.

It comes as Social Protection Minister Leo Varadkar says there's a diplomatic offensive underway to convince Europe that Ireland is a special case in the Brexit negotiations.

Yesterday French President Francois Hollande backed up the position that Ireland deserves special treatment.

However the German Chancellor Angela Merkel has suggested that Ireland will get the same deal with the UK as everyone else.
