The Taoiseach has asked the Minister for Justice to brief the Cabinet on claims that the offices of the Garda Ombusman Commission were bugged.

Enda Kenny says he wants a full report from Alan Shatter - after it emerged that GSOC called in security consultants to investigate its suspicions.

However, the Government was not informed.

Minister Shatter has demanded an explanation from GSOC.
