Proposals to levy a new tax on farmland could destroy the agricultural industry in Ireland.
That's according to the Irish Farmers Association, which says farmers simply won't be able to pay a new tax on the value of their land.
The European Commission's suggested extending the property tax to take account of land which doesn't have property built on it.
But IFA president Eddie Downey says a new tax could be the final straw for many struggling farmers:
