New exchequer figures out this evening, show the state's tax take is about half a billion euro ahead of expectation.

Revenues are nearly 6% up on this time last year according to the new third-quarter figures.

Nearly €33.5 billion euro in taxes have been collected so far this year.

That is slightly ahead of forecasts.

€4.1 billion euro came from Corporation Tax.

However income tax and VAT revenues were less than expected.
