Independent TDs say a new alliance they're forming will be a 'landmark shift' in Irish politics.
Shane Ross and Michael Fitzmaurice are among the organisers of the alliance, which held its first meeting over the weekend.
The new group has released a 'hit list' of ten policies around which its candidates will align - but, beyond that, has yet to publish its full platform to tell voters exactly what exactly its members will stand for.
The group says it will not form a party - and that it would be prepared to back any government in a confidence motion, as long as the government was committed to implementing its ten key policies.

This would suggest that the group would not seek to hold ministerial office or be a formal part of any coalition.
