The Technical Group in the Dail will meet today to decide whether or not they'll nominate someone else to take Stephen Donnelly's place on the banking inquiry.
The Independent TD quit over the Taoiseach's insistence the inquiry committee must have a government majority.
A Fine Gael and a Labour Senator were added to the committee, but the party whip has been removed.
The candidate emerging to seek a nomination after Donnelly's resignation is Joe Higgins from the Socialist Party.
While, Fianna Fail deputy Willie O'Dea says it'll take a Judge-led inquiry to see out the investigation.
