A teenager has died in a crash between two motorbikes in west Dublin.

It happened on Cherry Orchard Avenue just before 8 o'clock this morning.

The second motorcyclist - a man aged in his 20s - was not seriously injured.

Cherry Orchard Avenue is closed with local diversions in place.

Gardai in Ballyfermot are appealing for witnesses to the crash to contact them.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators have been requested to examine the scene and the Coroner has been notified.
