A teenager has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Dublin this morning.

A manhunt operation was launched after a number of shots were reportedly fired at a house in the Kilmainham area at about 9.30 this morning.

No one was injured, but Gardaí launched a search for a male teenager who escaped from the scene of the incident.

The operation involved local Garda Units, the Emergency Response Unit, the Garda Dog Unit and an Air Support Unit helicopter. 

During the search two firearms were recovered.

A teenager was later arrested in the Inchicore area.

He is being held under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act at Kevin Street Garda Station.
