An Australian teenager - attacked by a crocodile - says he jumped into a river as a dare to impress a British backpacker.

Lee de Paaw suffered extensive injuries - and admits he was "lucky" to survive after punching the animal in the head to escape.

The 18-year-old - who later described the stunt as "stupidity" - almost had one arm bitten off as he wrestled with the animal:
