It's forecast to be the hottest day of the year so far.
Temperatures could hit up to 29 degrees in northern parts of the country
On Thursday, Mount Dillon in Co Roscommon recorded the hottest temperature at 27 degrees.
Cathal Nolan, from Ireland's Weather Channel, says inland areas in the north are set to get the hottest conditions today.
"Temperatures are expected to rise quite rapidly across the country.
There will be plenty of warm, summer sunshine. Temperatures overall are expected to get up to between about 25 to 27 degrees.
"One or two locations will make it to 28, maybe even 29 degrees, most likely across the northern half of the country, and away from coastal areas".
However, Met Éireann is warning that showers and thunderstorms may break out on Friday afternoon and evening, mainly in the northwest of the country.
Temperatures for Munster and south Leinster will be slightly cooler, with highs of 20 to 23 degrees.
Met Éireann is also warning people that the UV index will be high and people should make sure to cover up and protect their skin.
