A TD says tenants should refuse to leave a property, if the alternative is becoming homeless.
Anti Austerity Alliance TD Ruth Coppinger said people should keep paying rent, but should inform their landlord if they have nowhere else to go and refuse to move out.
She says breaking the law in this way is preferable to becoming homeless and that the government is completely out of its depth when it comes to tackling the homeless crisis.
