Tens of thousands of people have protested against police brutality in America during a 'national day of resistance'.

Crowds took to the streets of Washington yesterday to show their anger over the deaths of a number of unarmed black men killed by white police officers.

Last summer father of six, Eric Garner from Staten Island, died after being put in a 'chokehold'.

While, teenager Michael Brown was unarmed when he was shot dead in Ferguson Missouri.

Civil rights campaigner Al Sharpton addressed protesters in Washington - calling on bigots and racists to see what they're up against:
