Gardai have launched an investigation after a womans body was found with serious head injuries in a house in Co Louth.
The discovery was made near Hackballscross this afternoon.
Gardai are understood to be investigating if the death is linked to a fatal collision on the M1 motorway.
The collision happened at around 2 o'clock this afternoon on a northbound stretch between junctions 14 and 15.
Gardai say two cars and a truck were involved and the male driver and sole occupant of one of the cars died at the scene.
The driver and two passengers in the other car are being treated for non life threatening injuries.
