Lesbian and Gay couples marrying will strengthen marriage in Ireland.
That's according to GLEN who were responding to the launch of the Irish Catholic Bishops publication 'The Meaning of Marriage'.
The publication describes marriage as "a unique relationship different from all others and changing this to equate same sex relationships with marriage between a man and a woman would be a radical move"
However, Brian Sheehan from GLEN says that allowing lesbian and gay couples to get married will in no way harm or change any existing marriage;
Dr Frank Hurl from Catholic Comment says that if Ireland changes the definition of marriage it may denote the natural tie between a child and a mother and it's father.
