The Simpsons has responded to correctly predicting a Trump presidency 16 years ago.

In the episode 'Bart to the Future', Lisa was the first female president and America was financially crippled as a result of Trump's time in the White House.

In the latest opening credits, Bart writes on the blackboard 'being right sucks'

Earlier this year, Simpsons writer Dan Greaney said that the episode, which aired in 2000, "was a warning to America".
