A former Fine Gael member, who was kicked out of the party for voting against an abortion law, says he's not disappointed that Enda Kenny is now offering a free vote on the issue.
Senator Paul Bradford was one of seven members who lost the Fine Gael whip after voting against the Protection of Life During Pregnancy Bill.
The Taoiseach is now offering Fine Gael members a 'free vote' on repealing the 8th Amendment during the next Dáil.
But in an interview here on Today FM, Senator Bradford - who's now in Renua - says he's happy to see the Taoiseach changing position.
The interview marks the second installment in our 'Headliners' series, examining the new political parties and groups contesting their first general election in 2016.
Senator Bradford also calls for a radical overhaul of political funding - so that parties can't keep hold of money for politicians who are no longer members.
