Tanaiste says there's no upper-limit to how many refugees we take

Germany and Austria say they're expecting to receive thousands more refugees from Hungary today.

Around 8,000 people - many from war torn countries like Syria and Iraq - have moved on to Munich after Budapest relaxed restrictions on their travel.

Here at home The Tánaiste says there's no upper-limit to how many refugees Ireland may take.

We have already exceeded our EU obligations by agreeing to take 600 asylum-seekers.

But last week the Justice Minister indicated that we may take 1,800.

However Joan Burton refused to be drawn on how many could end up coming here:
