The trial of Ibrahim Halawa has been postponed in Egypt until the 6th of June.
The 19 year old's case was due to be heard in Cairo today however it has now been further delayed.
Ibrahim has been in custody for one year and eight months after being arrested at a mosque in Cairo in August 2013.
Minister Charlie Flanagan has issued a statement this evening saying it is extremely disappointing that the application for bail supported by the Irish government, has been rejected, adding that he remains committed to taking all appropriate action in pursuit of our two objectives towards achieving a positive outcome.
