Rock royalty have been honoured at this year's Kerrang! Awards.

Thin Lizzy were the veteran winners of the night as they picked up the Kerrang! Hero award from the heavy metal magazine.

Iron Maiden lost out to relative newcomers Asking Alexandria for best British band.

But they didn't go home empty handed - taking away a Legend award instead.
