Thousands have taken part in a demonstration in Dublin city, to show their support for refugees seeking asylum here.
The rally was organised by the Irish Anti-War Movement, who are calling for an end to violence and the civil war in Syria.
The demonstration also addressed the concerns of some, who feel that taking in refugees will divert limited resources from Irish people.
But Anti Austerity Alliance TD Paul Murphy, says with the right management and economic policies, there can be enough resources to provide a good standard of living for Irish people as well as refugees:
