Gardaí are continuing to question three men in connection with an armed raid on a Dublin post office earlier today.

Men armed with knives and a crowbar threatened staff and customers during the attempted robbery at Leonard's Corner in Dublin 8 at about lunchtime, however they fled on foot empty handed.

Gardaí arrested three men in a relation to the incident in a nearby flat as part of follow-up investigations.

They're being detained at Kevin street and Pearse street Garda Stations under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
