The tradition of throwing mortarboards into the air at graduation ceremonies has been banned by a college in the UK.

The University of East Anglia says it poses an "unacceptable risk" to students, after reports of injuries in recent years.

Students are now been offered the chance to "mime" throwing them into the air.

But for eight pounds they can have a mortarboard digitally added to photos.
