Tight security is expected around the Dáil this morning, as debate over water charges amendments resumes.

Last night, two Oireachtas members cars were blocked on Kildare Street for a time, as protesters converged on Leinster House.

Labour Senators Denis Landy and Mary Moran were forced to abandon their cars when the demonstrators staged a sit-down protest.

The house authorities have requested the presence of the Garda Commissioner Noirin O'Sullivan today to ensure access to Leinster House for TDs, Senators and staff with protesters expected to return to Kildare Street this morning.
