Apple CEO Tim Cook has called Europe's ruling on its tax bill 'political crap'.

Mr Cook has given a number of interviews in which he says he's confident his appeal will be successful.

Fine Gael ministers want to appeal the order for Apple to pay €13 billion in back taxes to Revenue.

The European Commission has denied the claims and insists the findings are based on pure fact.

Internal meetings among independent ministers are continuing today ahead of tomorrow's second cabinet meeting on the subject.
