Tin Of Beans Singed By Chris de Burgh Sold At Auction
A tin of beans, signed by singer Chris de Burgh has sold for more than €100 at auction.
The Heinz beans were signed by the 74-year-old as a joke gift for his merchandise manager, Jason Ganner, in 2012.
A fan paid €127 for the tin of baked beans in the auction, €23 more than the asking price.
Jason Ganner worked on every tour with Chris De Burgh for twenty years and became a close friend of the artist.
It's reported de Burgh signed the tins of beans for Ganner "in recognition of his daily breakfast consisting of the famous product and poached eggs, a tradition born out of the fact that eggs prepared in that way have to be cooked fresh and cannot be placed under a heat lamp or made from dried produce, a fact De Burgh found incredibly funny".

The lot was included in Graham Budd auctions' Vinyl & Pop Culture sale on Wednesday.
