Fine Gael and Fine Fail have until later today to make new proposals on whether people should be charged for wasting water.

Enda Kenny said yesterday that Fine Gael will not facilitate any laws to scrap all domestic water charges which it believes to be illegal.

It's reported families could receive a refund of €325 euro on their previously paid bills.

However Sinn Féin's Eoin O'Broin says the parties are interfering in the special Oireachtas committee on water:
