A train drivers' strike at Irish Rail is set to go ahead on Friday.
Talks at the Workplace Relations Commission collapsed without resolution at 2 o'clock this morning.
As a result, a stoppage by train drivers looks set to go ahead between 6 and 9am next Friday.
SIPTU and the National Bus and Rail Union will hold a further 3 hour stoppage on Friday November 6th, if the dispute still hasn't been resolved.
This dispute centres around pay and productivity.
The drivers say management are not honouring a deal under which they're owed extra pay for additional duties.
Irish Rail says it's losing one and a half million euro a month - and can't afford any extra payments unless drivers increase productivity further.
