A pensioner in the UK ended up getting trapped inside a public toilet for days.

Gladys Phillips was out shopping when she popped into a newly installed public loo in Felixstowe.

But she didn't realise the toilet wasn't actually officially open yet, so the automatic door locked tight behind her.

She didn't have a mobile phone, but had luckily just picked up a new ball of wool, so Gladys sat on the jacks and started knitting to pass the time and snacking on mint imperials.

She was stuck inside for four days before a workman came and found her.

She said afterwards the loo 'was very clean and cosy' and if she got cold, she sat under the hand dryer for a while.

And she finished a pink scarf for her grandchild for christmas.
