The Finance Minister says the Former head of the ECB Jean Claude Trichet never threatened the Irish Government in 2011.
However Michael Noonan says he has seen correspondence from 2010 where Mr Trichet appeared to threaten Brian Lenihan with the withdrawal of emergency support for Irish Banks.
The Banking Inquiry Report this week found the government could not impose losses on senior bondholders because of an explicit threat from the ECB.
However Minister Noonan says that's not the case...
