Trinity College protesters say they're not ruling out another sit-in if the university won't compromise on the repeat exam fees.
A number of students have been occupying the dining hall since Tuesday in protest over the introduction of a €450 charge.
However, they are today ending the occupation to coincide with a lunchtime rally & concert
Students say it felt appropriate to end the occupation after the university's President tweeted that the board will seriously consider alternative proposals for the fees.
Agreed with @tcdsu & @trinityGSU that”‹ we will seriously consider alternative proposals on supplemental exam fees, modular billing & PG/Non-EU fees at the next Board meeting, and that Trinity is a university that belongs to all of us who study and work here #TakeBackTrinity

However, Sarah Meehan from the Take Back Trinity Campaign says they'll still keep the pressure on.
She observed: "We're going to trust Patrick Prendergast on this, and if this doesn't go through at the board meeting at the end of the month then more direction action is planned.
"This is absolutely not the end of our direct action - it's just the end of our occupation."
Demonstrators are also calling for affordable rental accommodation for the students, and no more increases to any student fees.
