Donald Trump has been forced to cancel a campaign rally in Chicago after violence broke out.

There were fights between supporters of the Republican presidential front-runner and protesters, with some getting on to the stage.

Mr Trump says he decided to call off the rally after consulting police.

Outside the venue, police were involved in scuffles with hundreds of demonstrators who refused to leave.

Afterwards, Mr Trump spoke to the Fox News show "Hannity", and was insisting this was not a stunt:
