Donald Trump says he and his Chinese counterpart both think there's a solution to the North Korea issue.

The US President and Xi Jinping have been holding talks in Beijing.

Mr Trump did praise some of the action China has already taken.

However, he argued that the country needs to do more to implement sanctions against Kim Jong-un's regime.

Saying that US supports the complete de-nuclearisation of North Korea, Mr Trump argued: "China can fix this problem easily and quickly.

"I am calling on China and your great president to hopefully work on it very hard."

Mr Trump also blamed past US administrations for an "out of control trade deficit" between the two countries.

He argued: "I don't blame China. After all, who can blame a country for being able to take advantage of another country for the benefit of its citizens? I give China credit."

Mr Xi, meanwhile, insisted his country is "unswervingly committed to reform and opening up".
