The executive of one of the two main secondary teachers unions has recommended that its members accept proposals for Junior Cert reform.
The Executive Committee of the TUI said the reforms meet "the deep concerns" expressed by teachers about the assessement of students, and the resources needed to implement them.
The executive of the other main union - the ASTI - meets tomorrow to make its recommendation to members.
However - some members of the union's leadership have already come out against the deal.
