TV3 is to produce a new Irish soap opera to replace Coronation Street which it is losing to UTV.
The police drama will be based in a fictional seaside Dublin town.
Red Rock will air in January and will employ over 100 people.
The channel launched its new scheduule today which also includes a new version of the Channel 4 show Googlebox.
