Twitter has launched new messaging and video features.

From today, everyone will be able to send group direct messages, and will be able to start a private conversation based on a Tweet.

Users will also be able to caputure, edit and share videos directly from the app.

Until now, videos could only be added by linking to Vine, Instagram or YouTube.

The company is attempting to reassure investors following a turbulent first year as a publically-traded company.
