Two Arrested In Connection To Fatal Explosion At Creeslough

Two people have been arrested in connection to the fatal explosion in Creeslough in October 2022.

Ten people died in the incident at the Donegal petrol station, aged between 5 and 59 years of age.

Gardaí say the two men aged in their 50s have been taken into custody for alleged offences under the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997.

They are being held at separate Garda stations in Donegal.

The investigation has been co-ordinated from Milford Garda Station.

Officers say investigations are continuing to be led by local Gardaí in Donegal Division, supported by the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation and other agencies, including the Health & Safety Authority and the Commission for the Regulation of Utilities.

Following the incident then-Taoiseach Micheal Martin described it as the "darkest of days for Donegal and the entire country."
