Two bodies recovered after drownings - search continues for a third

Two people have drowned to death in counties Cork and Donegal - and a search is on for a third person who is feared drowned.

A woman's body was found at Rockstown Bay in Inishowen in Co. Donegal this evening.

It's feared another person may have drowned in the incident and the Malin Head coastguard is still searching the area.

It follows unconfirmed reports that the woman, who was from Derry, was last seen with a small child.

Earlier the body of a man in his twenties was taken from the sea in the Beara peninsula in West Cork.

Their deaths bring the number of people to have drowned in Irish waterways since the start of the heatwave to 12.
