A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the disappearance of school boy Kyran Durnin.
The little boy - from Dundalk in Louth - was reported missing last August, but Gardaí believe he was murdered in May or June of 2022. He would now be 8-years-old, if he's still alive.
The man, who was arrested on Thursday, is being questioned at a Garda Station in the east of the country.
Investigating Gardaí have also started searches at two houses in Drogheda.
Officers are hoping these searches will help them to discover evidence which might provide information as to Kyran's current whereabouts, or what has happened to Kyran.
Gardaí have renewed their appeal for anyone with information about Kyran's disappearance to contact the Garda Investigation Team at Drogheda Garda Station, no matter how insignificant the information may seem.
A woman, aged in her 20s, who was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the investigation was released without charge on Wednesday.
