The Olympic Council of Ireland has confirmed that two Irish boxers at the Rio Games have been spoken to, about inappropriate betting activity during the Olympics.

It says the matter is still under review and there will be no further comment at this stage.

A new code of ethics introduced last year by the International Olympic Committee bans Olympians from placing bets on Olympic sports or providing inside information to gamblers during the course of the 2016 games.
