Two people have died in a crash in county Cork.

A male driver and his female passenger both in their 70's were killed in the two car collision on the N20 Cork to Limerick Road - in the townland of Balty-daniel just after five o'clock this evening.

A woman who was driving the second vehicle suffered non life threatening injuries in the incident.

The road has been closed to allow a forensic examination take place and anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact Gardaí in Mallow.
